On 3rd October 2009 “Arohan” Entrepreneurial – Cell (E-Cell) of Indira school of Business Studies celebrated its 1st Anniversary. Mr. Mohan Anturkar, Chairman ‘M SQUARE ENGINEERS’ presided over the Function.
The E-Cell student members reviewed the activities conducted in the previous year. The highlights were Entrepreneurship week celebration in February 2009, under the guidance of National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), National level Business Plan Competition ‘Indiapreneur’ in March 2009 and Kindling activity in July 2009. All such activities under Arohan are aimed at igniting the entrepreneurship spirit in the students.
The kindling activity carried out by the batch of 2009 ISBS students in July 2009, had resulted in generating a revenue of Rs 25,000. Therefore the day also saw the inauguration of starting an enterprise by the students of ISBS, using the seed capital of Rs 25000, generated by the students. The students under its faculty team launched the Vermin-culture Initiative at IGI. This activity is an impetus by the team at ISBS, to contribute its share in the recognition of PRME (Principles of Responsible Management Education), and sustainable initiative at ISBS.
Subsequently Chief Guest Mr. Mohan Anturkar addressed the students on the occasion. He shared his thoughts about the mindset required to be an Entrepreneur, various aspects about starting a venture, his own experiences and answered queries of students on subjects like Fund raising, issues faced by management, team work and Government policy for stating one own enterprise.
The function was attended by Director Dr. Renu Bhargava, Faculty and all the students of ISBS.
