Indira School of Business Studies, Pune : Convocation  Batch 2006-08

Indira School of Business Studies (ISBS), Pune, celebrated the passing out of PGDBM Students, christened as Pioneers, in its Convocation Ceremony on window.google_render_ad(); 31st January 2009, in the grand 500 seated auditorium at the Indira Campus.
The convocation ceremony began with the convocation procession led by the current and past presidents of the student’s council with the flag of Indira School of Business Studies, followed by the Chief Guest, Institutional Heads, Faculty and the Pioneers. The flag was handed over by the past president to the current president as a ritual to the rite of passage for the convocation ceremony.
The inauguration of the convocation ceremony began with the traditional classical dance performance - Ganesh Vandana, performed by students of ISBS, followed with nostalgia, a film on the two years spent by the Pioneers at Indira School of Business Studies.
Prof. Renu Bhargava Director ISBS delivered the welcome address and impressed on the Pioneers to work with such passion in their hearts that success not only becomes a matter of course but incidental and work becomes its own fulfillment.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr Paresh Chaudhry, Group President, Corporate Communications, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). In his convocation address, Mr Chaudhry stressed the need for Building
Brands: "Through Strategic Internal Communications" and creating a brand experience that engages the customer and differentiates the brand by communicating the ideals and values it stands for.
Prof Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, Indira Group of Institutes addressed the students on the relevance of being ever vigilant to the demands of the Industry and seek opportunities in the face of challenging global environment.
Mrs Tarita Mehendale, Chairperson Indira Group of Institutes stressed on the relevance of wholesome personality to become truly liberated individuals. Ms Madhuri Sathe Director Corporate Relations Indira Group reiterated the relevance of living each day to the fullest with passion in ones heart.
After the Convocation address the felicitation ceremony that followed was a spectacle to watch for the friends, family, and faculty members of the Alumni, as they went up on stage attired in their marvelous robes, stoles and caps to receive their certificates from the dignitaries who did the honors.
Students received individual awards for excellence in performance in ISBS batch 2006-08.  Student with Overall Excellence in PGDBM was Mr Sumeet Shah, who was felicitated with the trophy, medal and certificate for overall outstanding performance. Outstanding student in the field of Marketing was Ms Sangeeta Agarwal and in Human Resource Management was Ms Manisha Bhagat. Both were felicitated with medals.
The proud parents of the outstanding students were felicitated by the dignitaries.
After the Pioneers were declared alumni of ISBS, they were administered an Oath in which they reiterated their commitment to engaging in a continuous process of improvement in thought and action towards leadership, globally. They promised to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large. As the Alumni of ISBS they promised to present to themselves and their alma mater a structured and functioning Alumni Body. It was a very proud moment for the parents when all the students joined for the cap throwing ceremony after receiving their testimonials.
Vote of thanks was followed with lunch served to the entire gathering.
