E - Week

Organizing for the first time, Indira School of Business Studies is looking forward to start off in a grand way. The main objective of Indira School of Business Studies is to create awareness among the people about the environment. This will be done with the help of events like  

  • Public awareness wherein the students will be going to every house educating people about water and electricity conservation.
  • Green bazaar event will be held in order to inspire people to use eco-friendly products and thus save and nurture the environment.

The events will be in association with ‘3G Global Services’ ‘Career Forum’ and Radio Mirchi’. The whole event will be aired on Radio Mirchi in order to create a grater impact. 

Not only the e-cell members but all the college students and faculty are actively coming forward to participate in E-week. The whole college is decorated with posters to create an environment of E-week conveying the message of go green and everyone is awaiting the E-Week.

We have registered for ‘The best public awareness activity’.
Here are the details of the ‘The best public awareness activity’. 
The public awareness activity has been planned on Sunday 8th February 2009.
The activity will go as following:- 

  • 9 am- a group of 10-15 people (nen as well as non nen members) will go to Chapekar Chowk or Bijli Nagar and clean the area. Separate the waste into recycled and not recycled.
  • 12-12:30 am- after completing, the waste will either be disposed in the public dustbin or disposed in the PCMC dustbin.
  1. While doing this activity we will observe which all places require public dustbins.
  2. People passing by and littering their wastes will be asked to throw it in the dustbin.
After completing this activity all 8-10 people will divide themselves in a group of 2-3 and go to 4 houses and talk to the housewives educating them on ways of conserving energy and waste management. Like:

Asking questions and giving solutions:

  1. What is your electricity bill? ( how they can save electricity; ignorance to be converted into awareness)
  2. Where is the garbage of their society disposed? Whether it is actually being handed over to Municipal Corporation?
  3. Tell them how water is getting scarce comparative to the past. What they can do to conserve and save water? Use solar water heater instead of geyser.
  4. Guide them on how to generate “Wealth from Waste”. They can collect waste materials unused papers, empty bottles, empty toothpaste tubes from every house of the society and use create useful works of art or something beneficial in some months. Left over waste to be given to the proper place where such products are recycled.
  5. How they can reduce on using plastic.

Along with the famous and well known radio channel “Radio Mirchi” will air the whole event.
This will help us in convincing the housewives and fetch greater awareness among people.
